In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Trustees of the Cumbria Opera Group have decided to postpone the inaugural Cumbria Opera Festival until September 2021.

Dear Friends and Supporters of Cumbria Opera Group,

It is with great regret that, in accordance with government guidance during the coronavirus pandemic, we have made the decision to postpone the Cumbria Opera Festival 2020 until 2021. Even in the best possible scenario, we do not think a full Festival would be viable by September of this year, and we will not wilfully endanger our artists and audience.

The postponed Festival has been set for 4th-11th September 2021, and we’re delighted that our venues and artists, including Roderick Williams OBE and Joan Rodgers CBE, are available for the new dates. The Trustees wish to thank everyone for their support and help during this past year. If you have any questions about postponement please don’t hesitate to contact us at cumbriaoperagroup@gmail.com.

While we are disappointed to have to miss this year’s Festival, we can’t wait to welcome you all to our performances in 2021!

With all best wishes,

The Trustees of the Cumbria Opera Group
