Cumbria Opera Chorus: St John Passion, March & April 2023

On the 16th April 2023, the Cumbria Opera Group are producing a unique and exciting project: a staged performance of Bach’s St John Passion. Taking place at Grange-over-Sands’ Victoria Hall, this promises to be a hugely enjoyable project involving a 40-strong chorus, invited orchestra, and soloists representing Christus, the Evangelist, Pilatus, Petrus, Judas, and Mary Magdalene.

For this event, we are forming the Cumbria Opera Chorus, and would love to hear from you if you’re interested in taking part! The Chorus will be static, but will provide the background to a dramatic interpretation of Bach's Passiontide masterpiece.
 

The rehearsals, initially taken by Chorus Master Ian Jones, are as follows:
